Samantha has had over 35 of her songs either recorded by other artists or placed in movies and television. She continues to be a force in the publishing industry and at the age of 22 she has co-written over a 135 songs..Jessica Tyler currently stars in the hit show 'Degrassi', where she has performed over eight of her original written compositions on the show through her character 'Jenna Middleton'.. The truth is Samantha had to ok Miley cutting the song and although the song has great meaning to Samantha, she did record it when she was 15 and was thrilled Miley liked it enough to cut it..

We first told you about the Clique Girlz back in May 2008, after receiving a promo CD from the label. Several of the group’s songs, including “The Difference” and “Then I Woke Up”, were penned by Crazed Hits favorite Samantha Moore. The NY Times just did a big story on the band, which you can read at this link. Look for Iovine to put big bucks behind this project. He is determined to create his own Disney-like franchise!

Jessica Tyler, who plays Jenna on Degrassi, answered some quashes for us,she's pretty sweet.

1) What was the first rock show/concert you ever went to, and what was the BEST rock show/concert you ever went to?
A. My first rock concert was Backstreet Boys! It was AMAZING and ever since then I've loved concerts :) However, the best rock concert I went to was Kings of Leon! They were so inspiring and true, total rock stars!

2)What makes you cranky?
AWhat makes me cranky is no sleep! It totally throws me off!

3) And what gets you un-cranky?
A. A bubble bath and lots of sleep lol.

4) When you doodle, what do you draw?
A. I draw hearts and stars.

5) What do you think makes a good Degrassi episode?
A. I think drama makes a great episode, it adds interest ;)

The popular success of Degrassi: The Next Generation,

especially in the United States and around the world...has spurred the producers to make a number of media products complementary to the show.
These include a number of web series and a podcast, three miniseries, and three special episodes.

Guest Roles On Degrassi include Movie director Kevin Smith who has been a fan of the Degrassi series from the early 1990s, when he worked at a convenience store in Leonardo, New Jersey. Actor Jason Mewes was his co-worker at the time and also became a fan. Every Sunday morning at work, Smith and Mewes watched episodes of Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High on PBS. Smith enjoyed the earlier series and has acknowledged an infatuation with Stacie Mistysyn. He paid homage to Degrassi by making reference to it in several of his films.
For example, he named a Clerks character Caitlin Bree after Mistysin's Degrassi character, Caitlin Ryan, wrote Shannen Doherty's character Rene wearing a Degrassi jacket throughout his Mallrats film,[and had Jason Lee's character in Chasing Amy specifically mention Degrassi Junior High as a TV show he wants to watch, rather than going out.
Smith and Mewes guest starred as themselves in the final three episodes of the fourth season.

The annual Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest has gone Hollywood. Taking place in our nation’s capital from July 6-18, the festival’s lineup included big names like Arcade Fire, Drake, The Flaming Lips, Iron Maiden, Gypsy Kings, The B-52s, The Moody Blues, Weezer, Passion Pit and The Levon Helm Band among others.

First held in 1994, the festival has predominately booked blues acts, but since the year of its inception it has showcased an increasing number of rock and pop artists/bands. It has become the largest blues festival in Canada and second largest in North America next to the Chicago Blues Festival.

Some other notable performers set to play on the festival’s seven stages include Rush, Keith Urban, Hole, Roger Hodgson (Supertramp), Dana Fuchs (Across The Universe)..Alexisonfire, Joan Jett, LIGHTS, the Rural Alberta Advantage, The Swell Season, Woodhands, Metric, Great Lake Swimmers, Foghat, Basia Bulat and Andrew Bird. What is Blues in the Schools?

Blues in the Schools is an educational program that was created to promote, preserve, and perpetuate the art, culture,

and heritage of blues music and to examine the music's influence on other genres. Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest

brings artists/educators to Ottawa and pairs them with local musicians for a two-week residency

(February 28—March 11, 2011) in Ottawa-area schools.

When did Blues in the Schools Begin?

The program was initiated in two Ottawa-area schools in 1999 and has since seen tremendous growth.

In the spring of 2010, Seven visiting artists/educators and 18 local musicians delivered the Blues in the

Schools program to more than 6,500 students in Ottawa schools, contributing over 360 hours of in-class

instruction over a two-week period.

How does the program work?

The artists work with selected groups of students as part of the daily curriculum. The program is

divided into two components - phase one and two.

PHASE 1 (February 28—March 3, 2011)

Assembly-style presentation:

- One hour-long presentation per day (preferably the first period in the morning or the first period after lunch);

- Different performer per presentation (maximum of four presentations);

- Presentations can include lectures, singing, or musical demonstrations;

- Presentations are open to the whole student body.

PHASE 2 (March 4 and March 7—March 11, 2011)

Core Group Sessions:

- One-hour sessions with selected core groups (no more than 30 students per day);

- One artist/educator and one local musician throughout;

- Teachers work with the visiting artists/educators to present the program;

- Focus on more in-depth look at the history of music and music playing techniques;

- Showcase performance for the student body during the final day of the program;

- Opportunity to perform at the Bluesfest in July.

How do the students benefit from

Blues in the Schools?

By studying the history of Blues music, students learn about the injustice of racial intolerance.

Integral to our program is the mandate of reaching out to students and involving them in a universal

form of communication; namely music. Music reflects the feelings of the times. Through Blues music,

students can learn how an oppressed people empowered themselves with song in order to cope.

Our intent is to integrate students from different ethnic backgrounds and in this way teach harmony

and coping skills that will lead to a more fulfilling school experience.
